The government has called on the people to take precautions while celebrating the upcoming festival of Fagu Purnima popularly known as Holi and to not be involved in any kind of activities against the consent.In a press statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has urged the Holi revellers to abstain from troubling the passers-by by smearing colours, hurling water-filled balloons, and dirty water during the festival.The notice was issued in order to discourage the tendency of throwing water-filled balloons at passers-by, mainly young girls and women, during the festival of colours.Noting that such forceful activities are against the established law, the ministry has also appealed to the concerned sides not to import such plastics and balloons that are hazardous to the environment and public health.
