PM Oli got this invite in a telephone conversation the leaders held today. In response, PM Oli, while acknowledging the invitation, said he would arrange his visit after the situation in the country turned normal.
They exchanged greetings for the New Year 2016. In the conversation, PM Oli said that he was expecting to make bilateral ties positive, said PM's press advisor Pramod Dahal.
They held about 20 minutes long conversation and discussed about Nepal's current political situation including ongoing Madhes protest and blockade at the Nepal-India border and bilateral ties as well.
Similarly, PM Oli thanked his counterpart Modi for welcoming the constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament to address the demands of the Madhes-centric parties, said PM's press advisor Dahal.
Prime Minister Oli requested Indian PM Modi to lift the blockade at the Birgunj-Raxaul border point, however, Indian PM Modi repeated that there was no obstruction from the Indian side at the border points.
Obstructions at the border were due to protests by Nepali political parties. Indian PM Modi recalled that he had directed the Indian External Affairs Minister to arrange necessary preparations to send the medicines to Nepal airlifting them during the medicine shortage.
