Terai-Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, who is also a senior leader of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (Madhesi Morcha) has argued that negotiations for withdrawing the blockade with government will be done after 3rd January 2016 and if the government of Nepal becomes flexible Morcha is ready to accept the proposal of the government.Thakur said that current programs of agitation were announced until January 3, hence the meeting of the UDMF on that day will discuss border blockade and other aspects of Madhesi agitation. Thakur was speaking to a group of journalists from the Reporter's Club who had reached his party office in Bijulibazar to submit a memorandum. "Whether or not we continue with border blockade will be decided after January 3," Thakur told reporters.
