Yet another incident of moral policing has come to light in Maharashtra.A video purportedly showing a police officer thrashing a youth and abusing his female friend has surfaced on social media.The incident took place at Maharashtra’s Ulhasnagar area of neighbouring Thane district. The video clip has gone viral and sparked online reactions after it got uploaded on social media.According to report of Times of India, residents of Prabhag Nagar in Ulhasnagar had complained at Hill Line police station that couples had been visiting the place frequently and indulging in obscene acts over the last few days. After asking him a couple of questions, Waghmare is seen beating up the youth.When the female friend of the boy tried to intervene, the man in uniform started abusing her. An inquiry has reportedly been ordered against him.Senior inspector Mohan Waghmare along with a police constable visited the spot and found a young couple (seen in the video) seated in an empty autorickshaw parked in the locality.Recently, the Mumbai police had rounded up 13 couples and 35 others following raids at hotels and a beach here allegedly for indecent behaviour in public.
