udan KC November 17 - Bhajan “Bhaja Gobindam Vaja Gopalam”. This is a Vagan dedicated to god Gobinda and Gopal or lord Krishna aired on Kantipur TV on Nov 16. The program aims to start a good new day with the chanting of god. As, most of the people in Nepal are very religious and they do have a deep faith and belief in god. Besides the refrain of the song beginning with the words "Bhaja Govindam", Shankaracharya is said to have sung twelve other verses. Hence, the hymn bears the title "Dvadasamanjarika-Stotra" (A hymn which is a bunch of twelve verse-blossoms). The fourteen disciples who were with the Master on that occasion are believed to have added one verse each. Therefore people believe that if we start a day by listening to a vajan or any of the things related with the god then our day will be successful and full of happiness.
