China’s Consulate identified the fatalities to KOMO News as international students studying abroad at North Seattle College.
The school confirmed that 45 passengers on board the charter bus are their students and staff who were heading to Safeco Field as part of their student orientation. At least four people are dead and 12 are in critical condition after a Ride the Ducks tour vehicle collided with a charter bus carrying college students on a Seattle highway, local fire officials said. Horrifying video taken at the scene shows victims being carried out of the twisted wreckage on stretchers along the Aurora Bridge on State Route 99. Two of those killed are believed to have been aboard the charter bus when it collided around 11:15 a.m. Two other passenger vehicles were also damaged in the crash. A witness said the amphibious Ride the Duck vehicle appeared to veer into the middle lane before both vehicles collided head-on, leaving the charter bus looking as though it had exploded.
