Moscow: Russia has opened an investigation against the doctor following the video where he was captured punching a patient to death in hospital.

The video of the attack, which took place in the southern city of Belgorod, was aired by local TV channels. The video show the strongly-built doctor dragging the patient from the check-up table and punching the patient several times before inflicting the lethal blow. 

The doctor was reportedly angry after the patient unintentionally touched the nurse who was examining him.

According to the Belgorod's investigative committee's statement on Saturday the incident took place on December 29.
