Dogs and cats are being slaughtered in Vietnam, China for meat. They eat stolen pets to carry their local tradition. Thousands of dogs and cats are stolen daily. They are kept in a cage without provide them any meals for days. Many animals die from shock, starvation and dehydration on the journey. Who do service are beaten to death or slit their throats. Even though the festival had been banned sill discovered hundreds of newly slaughtered dogs and cats crammed so tightly into tiny wire cages where they can hardly breathe. Some could barely stand in their squalid pens because they suffered broken bones and severe wounds from the terrible journey. As you can see on the video a group of people put a rope around the mouth tied front leg, hang upside down before slit the through. This lucrative trade is said to be on the rise after the Vietnam government banned dog meat from being imported. Despite this, the documentary shows that dog meat remains a popular delicacy in the southeast Asian country. It is believed that dog thieves can earn up to £60 a night stealing pets, with one thief bragging that he has stolen over 3,000 dogs. Animal thefts in Vietnam are said to have increased after supply routes from neighboring countries such as Thailand, Cambodia and Laos have been largely closed down due to pressure from animal rights groups.
