Nepali Congress lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan, who is also the party’s Kathmandu district president, said the rally would start from Shanti Batika at 1 pm tomorrow.
According to Pradhan, the rally aimed at exerting pressure on the government to resolve the Madhes issues through dialogue and curb the black marketing, which he said has been protected by the government.
Speaking at the Reporters Club in Kathmandu, Pradhan said the NC’s support to the Madhes movement would draw the attention of India that imposed an undeclared blockade on Nepal and the Government of Nepal that was indifferent towards resolving the Madhes issues.
Speaking at the same programme, Nepali Congress leaders and lawmakers Gagan Thapa, Tirtha Ram Dangol, Deepak Kuinkel and Dhyan Govinda Kuinkel demanded that the Constitution Amendment Bill, registered at the House by the erstwhile Nepali Congress-led government, be advanced to resolve the Madhes crisis.
